To provide local leadership, education, and guidance to the citizens of the County and Commonwealth to ensure the wise use and protection of our precious, natural resources.
Our Objectives
The Conservation District will continue to work closely with conservation organizations, resource management agencies, farm organizations, sportsmen's groups, and the general public to promote erosion and sediment pollution control practices, conservation planning, water-quality improvement, land use planning, and environmental education. The Conservation District office will serve as a single point of contact for citizens in need of assistance with environmental concerns.

The Somerset Conservation District received the 2011 President's Award from the Mountain Laurel Chapter of Trout Unlimited (MLTU). The award recognized the District's long term commitment and efforts in water quality protection and improvement and the District's many other natural resource conservation projects. The award was presented at the chapter's annual banquet at the Johnstown Holiday Inn.
